Are You Ready to Heal?

Are you tired of suffering?
Tired of repeating the same patterns?
Tired of feeling stuck in PAIN, FEAR, CONFUSION or SURVIVAL MODE?
Do you say you want to heal, but still hold tightly to the beliefs, behaviours or identity connected to your pain?
Are you ready to face what healing may ask of you?
Because a person will only heal if they are READY TO HEAL.
This does not mean you must feel fearless or have everything figured out. It means you are willing to surrender to the healing process. You are willing to look honestly at what is happening within you, and move through the resistance and challenges that arise.
Healing is not always comfortable. But when you become ready, your entire relationship with your body, your energy and your life can begin to change.
The Turning Point: From RESISTANCE to READINESS
1.1 Healing Requires Participation
Many people hope that someone else will heal them.
They want the practitioner to remove the pain, clear the trauma, release the limiting beliefs and make everything feel better, without having to participate fully in the process.
But healing is not something that is simply done to you.
A healer may offer guidance, energetic awareness, compassion and a new perspective. They may help you see what has been hidden in your energy or understand how your body is communicating with you. However, you must be willing to meet the process.
You must be willing to:
- Listen to what your body is telling you.
- Become aware of the beliefs beneath your symptoms.
- Feel emotions you have previously avoided.
- Take responsibility for the choices that support your well being.
- Let go of an identity built around suffering.
- Move through the challenges that appear as you change.
This is the beginning of SELF-HEALING.
It is also where the three philosophies begin:
KNOW YOURSELF: become aware of your emotions, energy, body wisdom and limiting beliefs.
BE YOURSELF: reconnect with your authentic soul essence instead of performing an identity created for acceptance.
SHARE YOURSELF: allow your healing, gifts and unique beauty to contribute to the world.

Why Would a Person Resist Healing?
2.1 The Hidden Benefits of Illness
It may seem strange to ask this question:
“What benefit am I receiving from staying attached to my illness or suffering?”
Yet sometimes people are attached to their illness because it gives them some kind of benefit.
This does not mean they are pretending. It does not mean their symptoms are not real. It means that, beneath the physical or emotional pain, there may be an unmet need being fulfilled.
Perhaps the illness gives them:
- Attention.
- Care.
- Protection from responsibility.
- Permission to rest.
- A reason to avoid change.
- A familiar identity.
- A way to receive love.
In psychology, this can be described as a secondary benefit. From a holistic healing perspective, it can also reveal an energetic pattern or limiting belief that needs to be understood.
2.2 A Client with Arthritis
One of my clients had arthritis. As we explored her experience, it became clear that she was attached to receiving attention through the illness.
She resisted healing the arthritis because she was worried she would no longer get that attention anymore.
The attention was important to her. The illness had become one of the ways she felt seen, cared for and valued.
The breakthrough came when she recognised that she did not have to lose attention in order to heal.
Instead, she could get attention through sharing her UNIQUE BEAUTY.
She could allow people to appreciate her personality, her creativity, her wisdom and the qualities that made her special, not simply focus on her pain.
This is a powerful distinction.
You do not have to lose your needs when you heal. You may simply need to find a healthier, more empowering way to meet them.
Ask yourself:
- What am I afraid I will lose if I heal?
- What attention, protection or care does my suffering provide?
- Who would I be without this problem?
- What new ways could I receive love and support?
- How could I share my unique beauty instead?
These questions are not about blame. They are invitations to KNOW YOURSELF more deeply.
Readiness Sign 1: Your Energy Is Open
3.1 Energetic Awareness
As a healer, you may feel whether a person’s energy is open to the healing process.
Their energy may feel receptive, curious and willing. They may not understand everything, but there is a sense that something inside them is saying:
“I am ready for something to change.”
This openness does not require a perfect attitude. A person can feel frightened, angry or uncertain and still be ready.
The question is whether they are willing to engage.
Are they willing to explore the deeper message behind the pain? Are they willing to consider that their current beliefs may not be supporting them? Are they willing to move beyond the familiar?
When the energy is closed, defensive or completely unwilling, a healing session may not be useful. The person may resist every insight, reject every possibility and remain attached to the existing pattern.
Readiness Sign 2: They Do Not Want to Suffer Anymore
4.1 Listen to Their Language
The way a person speaks about their pain and suffering can tell you a great deal.
Do they speak as though they genuinely do not want to suffer anymore?
Do they say:
- “I am ready for this to change.”
- “I cannot continue living this way.”
- “I want to understand what is happening.”
- “I am willing to do something differently.”
- “I want to feel free.”
Or do they repeatedly explain why nothing can change?
Their words reveal their level of commitment.
A person who is ready may still express fear. They may still have doubts. But beneath those doubts, there is a genuine desire for transformation.
That desire is the spark that makes healing possible.
Readiness Sign 3: They Desire the Benefits of Healing
5.1 Look Beyond the Problem
Readiness is not only about wanting the illness to disappear. It is also about wanting the benefits that healing can bring.
What will healing make possible?
Perhaps the person wants to:
- Wake up with more vitality.
- Feel peaceful in their body.
- Rebuild confidence.
- Create a healthier relationship.
- Return to meaningful work.
- Share their gifts.
- Live with greater joy.
- Stop being controlled by fear.
- Overcome limiting beliefs.
- Feel connected to their soul essence.
The clearer the desired benefit, the more energy the person can bring to the process.
When people can see what they are moving towards, they are more willing to move through discomfort.
This is why holistic healing looks at the whole person, not only the symptom. The symptom may be one part of the story. The larger story includes their identity, relationships, emotions, energy, purpose and vision for life.

Readiness Sign 4: Ask the 0–10 Question
6.1 “How Urgent Is It for You to Heal This Now?”
One of the simplest ways to determine whether someone is ready is to ask:
“From a scale of 0–10, how urgent is it for you to heal this now?”
If the person gives an answer less than 10, it reflects that it is not urgent for them.
This does not mean they are wrong. It does not mean you should pressure them. It means there is more to understand.
Ask deeper questions:
- “Why did you choose that number?”
- “What would need to happen for it to become a 10?”
- “What are you worried might happen if you heal?”
- “What do you feel you might lose?”
- “What is holding you back from committing fully?”
- “What would your life look like if this were no longer a problem?”
Their answer may reveal the real resistance.
Perhaps they are afraid of change. Perhaps they do not believe healing is possible. Perhaps they are attached to the attention they receive. Perhaps they are protecting themselves from responsibility, intimacy or visibility.
The purpose of these questions is not to force readiness. It is to bring unconscious beliefs into conscious awareness.
Once you KNOW YOURSELF, you have more choice.
The Healer’s Role: Support, Do Not Force
A healer is not there to force transformation upon another person.
You are there to create a safe space, listen to the person’s energy, ask meaningful questions and offer the insight they need to begin healing themselves.
You are a vessel for the divine to work through you.
You may help someone recognise the limiting belief beneath their suffering. You may guide them towards a new perspective. You may show them that their unique beauty is larger than their illness.
But they must choose to participate.
This is why readiness matters. If a person is not ready, there may be no point in doing a healing session, as they will resist it.
Your role is not to rescue people. Your role is to help them reconnect with their own inner wisdom and healing capacity.
“Paul repeatedly demonstrated his gift for energetic healing, providing deep insight into the conscious roots of people’s issues and an ability to help people get the most from their healing experience with his energetic work.”
That is the purpose of transformational healing: not dependence, but empowerment.
Are You Ready to Heal?
Take a quiet moment and ask yourself:
Am I ready to stop suffering in the same way?
Am I willing to surrender to the healing process?
Am I willing to face the benefits I may be receiving from staying stuck?
Am I willing to move through resistance and challenges?
Am I ready to KNOW MYSELF, BE MYSELF and SHARE MYSELF?
You do not need to feel perfect.
You simply need to be willing to begin.
